I found this recipe for "easy barbecued ribs" and it looked easy and delicious, so I just went for it. Oh, and I was out of brown sugar...so I made my own!
What you need to make brown sugar:
-I cup granulated sugar
- 1 to 2 tablespoons of molasses
Mix for about 10 minutes...
and boom brown sugar.
What you need for Barbecued ribs:
1 1/2 tbsp sweet paprika1 tbsp light brown sugar, lightly packed
1/8 tsp cayenne pepper
1tsp of salt
1 tsp pepper
2 lbs pork ribs [leave the membrane on the ribs to help hold them together]
1 cup barbecue sauce
Vegetable oil spray
Mix together paprika, brown sugar, cayenne, salt, and pepper.
Rub the mixture all over both sides of the ribs
[I'm sorry for the...bloody picture...I didn't know ribs were quite so, uhm...gross]
Put in your slow cooker with the meatier side against the walls, and the thicker side on the bottom. Pour barbecue sauce all over ribs. Then cook on low, for 6-8 hours. I did 7, and they were perfectly done.
CAREFULLY remove ribs, I set mine straight on my broiler rack, bone side up. Pour remaining liquid through a mesh strainer, and into a sauce pan. Bring to a boil, and let simmer for about 15 minutes, so that it is reduced by about 1/3.
Brush sauce over ribs, and broil 4 minutes. Remove, and CAREFULLY flip over, and brush with sauce. Broil meat side up for 9 minutes, brushing more sauce on them 1 or 2 more times.
Serve with remaining sauce.
Looking at these pictures makes me really hungry.
